Aristarchus 123 - I've recently lowered my nickel box searching to 2 per week due to constraints of time. In my prime, I was searching 7-10 boxes per week and if I couldn't get to a few of them I just kept ordering and they started to pile up quickly. The time consuming part is rolling/bagging and returning them to the bank, but I've got a pretty good system where it takes me about 20 minutes to roll 1 box.

A few years back I remember picking up 3 boxes of nickels with a specific 4 digit FRB teller stamp and ended up finding 5-8 buffaloes per box. I ordered 8 boxes for the next week, hoping for the same code and sure enough I found more buffaloes. My friend and I drove around to various banks and ended up getting 43 more boxes with the specific code. It was a lot of work but ended up finding almost 300 buffaloes and plenty of War Nickels too! During that week I'd go though 5-7 boxes per day... Was great to both begin and end the day digging through a box of coin!

This is just one of many great stories of coin hunting in the wild over the last dozen years. I'll post the results on New Year's Day! Happy hunting!
Rest in Peace

Amazing! I've never seen anything like that before. It must have been a dump into a coin counting machine that got rolled up by Brinks, et al.

I am still amazed at the two V-nickel end rollers; to find one would be a spectacular find, and you have two! Awesome!

My apologies for the unnecessary suspense. It ended up being a busier new year and week than I had initially planned for, BUT, the results are in!

So here's what I found:

42 pre 1960
2 'V' Liberty nickels
26 buffalo
35 war

-One buffalo ender roll had 8 buffalo in it. If I remember correctly, I found almost 50 buffalo in the box the roll came from.
-2 war ender rolls each had an extra War Nickel in the roll

And now for some pics:

Sorry the pics aren't the greatest- they were taken with my phone .

Enjoy!
