Although I agree the 7 does look "funny".

I'm surprised they're showing up already!

17 days into '17 :)

To me it looks like the 7 is too big. And the weird P. I'll hold real judgement until I see them in hand.

I'll have to keep ahold of my low 7 penny... just in case! Looks like the movie theater got it from the bank and I'm the first to get it.
Rest in Peace

I wouldn't be surprised if they all look like this. It seems like with some coins/dates the date just looks a little 'off' on all examples.

Wow! Pretty cool to see that and looking forward to having one in hand. Though I probably won't see a 2017-P cent here in Central Texas for a long time (pretty much until the mint sets start being released).

The 2007 Lincoln cents have a low seven also, looks just like the new 2017 cents.

Ah. Now we just need someone to make a nice side-by-side photo.

To my admittedly untrained eye the 7 on the "2017-P" coin looks lower than the rest of the numerals, which are all lined up well. It also at a bit of an angle.

On the 2007 the tops are all lined up well and the "7" descends below a little.

As an aside, is the bow-tie much less pronounced on the "2017" than the 2007? Could it be just a reduced relief?

I knew you would do it if I dropped the hint.

Although both sevens do descend, the 2017 seven appears to be lower when looking at the top.

I couldn't stop myself

The tops do appear to line up more on the 07, I missed that until I saw them side by side.

It may be the way the picture was taken that is making it look lower.
