Do They Recycle Polymer Notes When These Become Unuseable?

I cannot imagine there would be much left if they were burned/melted. I also am curious if they end up in landfills (shredded I would think)? How much squash could a Sasquatch squash if a Sasquatch would squash squash? Here in Australia (using polymer notes since the 1990s) they're shredded, pelleted and recycled into low-grade plastic products - plumbing pipes, outdoor furniture, the sort of thing they usually make out of recycled mixed plastic.
