I was given advice "to get famous people to autograph $100 bills, instead of $1's." That way, if you keep them, they're worth at the very least $100, and you'll have some cash set aside in savings for a rainy day. Hopefully, they will increase in value, but authentication can be pricey.

Interesting thread. One thing makes me curious - don't you have to fill out a special form in order to receive or deposit $10k or more in cash? And they let you do that as a teenager?

No, I let my parent do that. I think I will deposit most of them. I'll keep a few as my regular pocket money.

I got tagged one time dumping over $5K in halves at one time on a bad week in an emergency situation otherwise I would have spread it out.

Last time I did that.

There is no form for withdrawing large amounts of cash, only for depositing $10,000 or more. If the bank believes you are structuring your cash deposits to avoid the $10,000 they are supposed to make you fill out the forms as well (and report your structuring activity).

My parent had to fill a form out actually. It only took like one minute though.

Xavier is correct, even though a withdrawal of $10K in cash will always prompt some questioning, like in the ransom movies. Probably a good thing.

Thank you all for your help! My LCD said that he didn't want them, so back to the bank they go! Something funny did happen: One of the subscribers for my channel (a 9th grader) saw the video on my actual YouTube channel without knowing that the video was supposed to be for CCF. He said, "Wow, you have a lot of money! Cool video of all the hundreds!"

No questioning here! The bank actually asked if we wanted $10k instead of the $2k in crisp bills that we were actually looking for.

Can't believe that you as a teenager have access to that amount of cash........my parents wouldn't even give me $100 haha.

If there is not fancy notes or errors, just return them.
