the coin has suffered severe environmental damage..probably buried for a extended period of time.

to CCF. Not an error,PSD= Post Strike Damage. Looks like environmental damage to me.

@starrvillain, first welcome to CCF. Second, I agree with @silverwolf and @john1 that it looks like your nickel has environmental damage rather than being a mint error. There isn't any extra value from this damage and the coin can be spent (or saved if you just like having it around).

It looks like the famous "struck through purple and white paint and grease and sand" Nickel. There are only two others known.

If you went to the hardware store and bought a bag of nails, and some of those nails were all rusted and corroded, would you think they were made that way or that possibly something happened to them that made them rust away?
