A satisfactory example. Even with a bit of porosity, I still like this coin.

My first impression is that this isn't a genuine example. The patina looks applied IMO.

I was leaning toward corrosion being the best explanation.
But I notice the specs
30mm but only 16.2 grams ?
Possibly a typo ?
At 16.2 grams I am very unsure about this piece.

Agreed, this one doesn't sit right with me. Balbinus is one of those emperors that unless I am buying from a *very* renowned seller, I will assume the coin is fake and go from there.
