Friends
I have two tetradramas from Maussollos and I am in doubt about which to sell and which to leave in my collection.
My question lies mainly in the presence of the Beta on the reverse of one of them.
Could you help me decide?
Thank you so much again!

There is some lamination issues on both coins, but I think #1 is the better of the two. Nice coins I want one some day.

Thank you friend!
My tendency is also to choose the first one.
Do you think laminating is a problem?

No I don't think it is a problem, it does however reduce the value of the coin a bit.

lamination issues

Ron, just so that I can learn, what might cause lamination issues such as are on the OP's coins? Were they plated at some point over the centuries after being struck?

@prsferreira, please pardon me from stealing your thread a little bit.

Dave from what I understand lamination is caused by the environment, if the coin was buried in moist soil it can cause it to happen. It can also happen is the metal was not refined correctly.

This will explain it better than I can. http://www.forumancientcoins.com/mo...l_coins.html
