BIEs are usually referring to 1955 cents... I'll let an expert answer this for sure.

Interesting, sure looks like a die break, as the say in germanyn in October, "BIER"! Is there something going on to the left of the E ? Looks like some split plating ghost rot, hard to tell in pic, but I would say a BIE error for sure, nice catch on a newer cent!

Roycoinboy, not limited to the '55, but also all the early '50's wheats, a main one is the '53S. Seems they were trying to run dies til death! Ive seen it on other dates as well, fist one on a zincoln tho. sure wish I could post pix, computer died and have to use cheap tablet until next month.

I did some experimenting because something did not look right to me. There is a cut into the coin close to the B and it pushed up a line that looks like it it raised. I used a drop of water and watched it flow into the slit next to the raised area. So false alarm. Sorry guys. I wasted 2 hours looking at this coin and it is just a damaged coin.
