I've sold another bunch of modern foreign coins, and used the proceeds to add to my world silver coin collection. I brought a 1979 malta 1 lira coin. The toning on this coin is wonderful, it cost £3 ($3.70 USD).

Today, I also brought a bag coins from from a secondhand bookshop, I'll post pictures of what I find later.

So this week, I've been working down south near London, whilst on my lunch break I popped into a second hand book store, I was just browsing and got talking to the owner. I asked if had coins for sale as he had various other items for besides books i.e maps, advertising signs and medals etc. He brings out a bag of coins and notes, he wanted £30 for the whole lot (approx $37).

Most of the coins are old pre decimal British coinage, but I did get 22 silver coins and 11 euros in notes and coins.

I've sold some more modern foreign coins and brought the following 1953 South Rhodesia crown coin. I hope to sell some foreign coins and hopefully buy some more interesting world silver.

It's been a while since I last added to this thread. Today, I visited a local market and came across a stall selling bric-a-brac. For just £10, I picked up a bag of coins and was thrilled to find 16 silver coins inside, including a 1927 Australian florin and a 1945 half crown in excellent condition. Most of the other coins in the bag were pre-Euro coins from mainland Europe, with little monetary value, but I'm delighted to have scored a deal like this after such a long time.

A very interesting way to build a silver stash, for (sometimes) well below the ASW silver price, with at least some numismatic interest as well.

I have about 20 ASW ounces of World silver coins, built up over a very long time.
It is a good way of starting an OFEC collection, base exclusively on silver coins.

I went to a local market today, and met one of my favourite sellers, he always has a bunch of great stuff for sale. Anyhow he sold me the following collection of coins for £15. There's a bunch of old Ceylon, India, and various other countries, however I also found 20 silver coins.
