Your Shield nickel is Pretty, Pepactonius!! (I'm glad there's someone else that collects these coins!! It doesn't seem to be a very popular coin type...) 1872 Shield Nickel

I only have two of these, one with rays and one without. I also have only two decent Liberty nickels (cents and no cents).

I expect things will pick up when we get to the Liberty nickels. Next time, maybe the Shield nickels should be combined with other coins of this era. You could run a thread that sweeps through the years from 1849-1889, with all the unpopular, odd, or non-original denominations: - 2 cents - 3 cents - Shield nickels- 20 cents - Trade dollars- gold dollars - 3 dollar gold - maybe other gold
