I have tried not to click on this thread ..... Because I knew I would see a lot of very nice Shield nickels ..  I am trying not to get any ideas about starting another set of coins .. But wow .. Y'all are not disappointing .... love those proof nickels

So-called because a lot of unscrupulous dealers tried to pass these off to new collectors as the much scarcer 1883/2 overdate, which has a much wider spacing between date digits.

Here are my 3 that I have for this series. The Shield nickels are pretty hard to find with color. My example has light golden toning to it. My 1883 Liberty nickel I believe I got from someone on this site or CoinTalk.

There are also one two worn-out ones from the 1900s taken from circulation back in the 1950s. My collection of Buffalo nickels isn't much better -- same with 2-cent and 3-cent pieces (and gold dollars, 3 dollars, Half Dimes, etc.).
