I am not posting this in the NCLT forums because this is (AFAIK) all circulation coinage. I got an email alert today about an "uncirculated" (I think they are now calling it 'proof like') set that I got wind might be happening a short while ago. I liked it enough to (gasp) crack open my wallet! http://www.mint.ca/store/coins/coin-prod2900029

Don't forget with tax and shipping will probably bring it up to about $43.00 for $10.00 worth of coins.

You will not likely see the regular versions of the coins other than sets. I see the Classic Coins can be purchased (Mintage 75,000) as a set as well for $24.95. These and the coloured coins are the attraction.

That's true ace, but it doesn't include a 50c piece like the $24.95 set.

It's a shame the 50 cent coin was snubbed.

It looks like a nice set. The circulation toonie actually glows in the dark? That ought to attract some attention.

No 50 cent piece and the price makes it a no go for me. I'll pick one up in an auction in a few years for $20 or less.

I think it's a good inexpensive keepsake for the younger generation to remember Canada's 150th birthday. And as it may be years before 2017 circulation coins comes my way, I plan on buying a set just to see what they look like, The 50c not being there, well I suppose RCM justifies it because it's not released for circulation. Likely the local Canada Post will have them for sale after March 7th as well.

Quote: I am not posting this in the NCLT forums because this is (AFAIK) all circulation coinage. Since when are glow-in-the-dark twoonies circulation coins? So you paid $34.95 for $9 of circulating coinage? That is no different than the "uncirculated coin sets" (which used to be PL that the mint sells Winnipeg produced coins in). If you can buy it from the mint boutique, at a heavy premium, then it is NCLT http://goccf.com/t/279699
