Great start, batboy! This is a fun collection. Let me know if you stockpile any spare Type II's. I still need those for my album.

Sure thing, CelticKnot.

I cracked out one SBA from its slab and will probably do two more. I'm trying to figure out to do with the slab label. I want to keep the labels and attach them to the album if possible. I mocked up the label for the picture and I don't like it. The label is too overwhelming or imposing or something.

Any suggestions? The only other viable idea I had was to put the label under the coin hole on the reverse side. That's probably what I'll do unless something better pops up. Scotch double sided tape should work to hold the label in place, right?

Double sided tape will likely ruin the label if you ever need to move things around (if you care about that).

Maybe a vinyl Dansco page for these at the back of your album?

I never looked at a PCGS label before until I cracked this slab, but it looks like the label is printed on glossy paper and is twice as long as you see. Then it's folded in half. The back side has the PCGS logo and a square scan (QR?) code. I figured the glossy surface of the label would allow the tape to be removed fairly easy in the future if need be.

I would put the label inside the front or back cover.

However, I think the Dansco vinyl pages might be a good idea.

I either didn't know about the Dansco vinyl pages or I had forgot about them. Dang, I just placed an order with Wizard a couple of days ago and it's on the way. Could have had these on the way too if I had thought of it. Oh well, that's why I threw the question out there, figured there had to be a better way than what I had come up with.. The vinyl sheets might be just the ticket. I can print out a photo of the coin in the slab and attach the label to the photo to document the coin. I like that idea.

I'm curious to see how that will turn out. You could also put a vinyl page in front of each SBA page and try to line up the pockets with the coin holes so that it obvious which coin the label goes with.

My SBA sets are TPG certified, I'm thinking of putting together another in a binder or album, please share what you decide to use.

Ok! I ordered two types of Dansco vinyl pages. Seems like a lot of places don't stock them any more so I bought way more than I needed to have extras on hand later. I got the 3 pocket style that is usually used for currency and the 4 pocket style that guys use for baseball cards. That's the one I hope to use.

Got my Dansco vinyl pages and decided the 4 pocket "baseball card" page would indeed suit my needs. I did a trial run. I'll use heavier photo paper on the final. I also plan to print out the reverse of the slab and put it in the pocket facing to the rear, so both obverse and reverse are represented. The slab label is just slid down in there. It doesn't seem to move around much because it's a tight fit. I was going to add text to the photo, but I kind of like the simplistic look. Less is more. Besides, this is just for me and maybe my heirs anyway. I like it, think this is the route I'm going to take. Comments?
