Circulated Barber Half Dollar Question

I purchased 5 low-grade circulated examples for $7 a piece at the local coin show. Is this the rate to be expected from a high-volume coin/jewelry store? Junk silver at my store was something around 15x face, so it would have been $7.50 there, and he only had a few walkers and a 1963 Franklin in there. I would have bought those Barbers at your price.
