Hello All,

I recently bought this Capped Bust 50c for $75. I know the Capped Bust series have many varieties, so can anyone identify the particular variety of this coin?

I have tentatively graded it a VF+. Any information on the grade and value would also be helpful.

Thank you!

Love the circulated cameo and agree with vf. I would say vf-30. Others will weight in on variety

I'm at VF-25. Just barely squeaks past VF-20.

Nice attractive example. I've got a copy of Overton and will attribute it this evening if someone doesn't beat me to it today.

Don't do Overtons very often but really like the circulated cameo appearance of this one. I could see it making 25 too.

Nice details. I would go with a VF-25 as well.

There are 49 different Overtons for the 1827 Capped Bust half dollar, and unfortunately, I don't have the time to sort through them right now for you.

Here's a link to CoinZip where you can determine your coin's Overton yourself. It's the site I use. You have to join, but it's free. Overton Investigation is fun!

Good Luck!
