That is interesting.

I'm not sure it's a die chip though.

I think it's in the wrong place to be a chip.
I see it as more of a small die gouge.

Thanks guys, that's why I posted it for more eyes...uruman that's interesting and somewhere somehow I think I've heard something about the St. John's but can't remember? 'Must of been on this forum tho

They used to refer to this one as the 'San Jose' mint (never existed) years ago. But it is just a die crack that spread into a chip in this die state. The over use of the dies on the 1950's wheat cents that left very poor coins. But with imagination some have raised them to a different level with name added to them. But they are in fact just die events that happen to an over used die.
