AgCoinAu Pillar of the Community Canada 3049 Posts	Posted 03/12/2017 6:10 pm I was told that incandescent lights were best for coins as they can display true lustre.... What is the opinion of those who frequent this forum? Do you prefer incandescent lights, LED lights or some other light source? I recently purchased some light fixtures that can house incandescant bulbs... and they have some diffusers already on them.... they're good but expensive... and I've seen some very small adjustable LED lights that would take up a whole lot less space and are a fraction of the cost.... but I want the light source to be the best possible... your opinions are appreciated! There are many ways to achieve this. Search for "smile directors coin photography" for an approach using the ubiquitous Jansjo light to shape the light as a narrow arc, and how to use this for maximizing lighting angle and minimizing glare.
