Canadian Coin and Currency has 59 subscriptions right now, down from 68 on Tuesday. Not exactly on fire.

Some (like me) want only the 1867 Confederation coin, so they don't want to commit to the 3 coin subscription at CC&C. The other two are nice, but not as stunning as the first, imo.

Some dealers will be selling this coin as a single, so next week we should get a better idea.

As for the price later this year...no one knows.

The price of the 1st coin in the series will not rise as long as subscriptions have stock. We saw that with the 2017 Colville Goose. The Colville subscription is still available which is driving the price of the Goose Coin down.

Six month from now the Confederation Medal coin will be forgotten with the rest of the 2017 coins. Just too much product.

I'm not really concerned with price appreciation. I'd like it to maintain its value, though.

Are there many RCM 10 oz proof coins with 1,000 or 1,500 mintage that have dropped significantly? I'm really curious. Haven't been able to find too many of these coins on ebay.

The Colville Goose seems to be holding its value on ebay.

A few current ebay asking prices have dropped a bit, but not significantly.

Any Colville Goose coin sold for less than $600 will incur a loss since the issue price was $559.95.
I sold one for $599 with free shipping a few months ago and I ended up with $500 after all the fees.

If the Confederation Medal coin holds its value at $899, you will still incur a loss if you ever sell because of the eBay/PayPal fees.

Yes, ebay can take a chunk out of the price, but I don't intend to sell either, so no worries about any loss.

I just want these coins to maintain their value, and "so far" the Colville Goose is. Sold for $599. We can't claim that a coin is dropping just because ebay takes some of our money. The buyer paid more than issue price.

No intention of selling the 10oz Confederation coin, but if I ever do I'd try to do it locally. I've had success many times without paying ebay fees.

At least one dealer has non special wrapped coins available. You can get the 5 circ denominations for $134.

So for an extra $51 plus tax, you get the special wrapping and the case from the RCM...not unreasonable I guess.

When you look at it that way, it seems reasonable but when you think of twice face value for circulation rolls... Not so much. If I stumble across a few bank rolls, I'll hang on to them but that's about it.

Yes, clearly getting them at FV is the best option. Happy hunting.

Do you mind sharing the location? Just the city, would be great. I'm curious to learn if they are being distributed across provinces simultaneously or if big cities will see them first.

Will you open it, to see if there is "traditional design" coin?
So it will be error roll.

Just paid attention:

These coins already on ebay, and Nickel offered for CAD 3.44:

ebay ID = 322452682772

Should be rare coins....
