It wouldn't hurt to give the seller a nudge. Just asked what day it shipped. The seller may have lost a day looking for a box that was big enough.

Hope it arrives soon.

These are the largest items I have bought in quite some time. I am use to getting a tracking number in a few days, but the box size could be the problem. I will get a message sent off.

The metal detectors are on the way and should be here Tuesday. Because of the delay in shipping he found the missing parts for the third detector. Maybe I will end up with three working units.. or not!
Rest in Peace

The three Garrett detectors arrived yesterday and two of them seem to be working ok, but the third has yet to detect a quarter placed on the floor. I am still trying to find a manual on how the controls work. I did find a 1978 manual that list the groundhog detector and the price of one, in 1978, was $330.00. That was a lot of coin in 1978. The guy I bought them from included a couple of books and the third battery door and tray that was missing in the original ebay auction. Rain yesterday and today, so I will be searching for treasure in my house again.
Rest in Peace

Glad they came.

Just in case you didn't already try this: http://www.garrett.com/hobbysite/hb...uals_en.aspx

Your detectors are too old to make the list but there's a number to call for unlisted models. They might want a few dollars but it could be worth it.

Thanks for the link to the Garrett site. I could find one for the newer models, with a toggle switch instead of an on/off switch like mine, but I finally found a site for those who still use the old detectors and they had the manual for my model. Now if the rain would stop....

I can still only get two the the detectors working. I took both out into the yard, only light rain today, and came up with nothing...at all. The yard is an old cabin site from the 1890's or so, and was torn down about ten years ago. I now live in the back next door to my old house. I would have thought I would be detecting all kinds of objects. A coin on the floor is detected at about 6 to 8 inches above, so I am assuming the detectors are working ok.
Since the house sat empty for 30 or more years, I could imagine that every detector in town has been through here at least once. When the weather is better, I will try other places and see what shows up

I am hoping for a few rain free days. Nothing worse than getting a few miles up a mountain trail (I have a few old cabins in mind) and the rain opens up.

35 years ago, living in an older Fort Worth neighborhood, we hosted a birthday party for a 9 year old son. I salted the back yard with quarters and gave each guest 5 minutes with my Garret. One boy got excited over a strong ping, in an area I didn't salt, and dug up a sterling bracelet. He went home with quite a nice door prize!
