CoinWorld has a drawing of what the Nevada quarter will look like: Nov. 29 issue front page. If it turns out to look as good as the picture it will by far be my favorite quarter. And I though for sure Nevada would put Bugsy Segal on there, chewing on some carpet. Just teasing ya Catman.

If, and this is a big, big IF.................if the actual coin can capture the beauty of the drawing, then this issue will become my favorit also. Here's hoping!!

This Nevada quarter is a nice one, but will do some checking on the designs used. It seems that I've seen the same thing, or very close to it on a Leaning Tree Christmas Card several years ago. I'll let you know if I find it and who the artist was.

That's nice! Be interesting to see how the actual coin turns out, bet it will be pretty as a proof! I'm slightly disappointed that they didn't do something with the Carson City mint, but this is a nice surprise. Rachel [:p]

I really like the design for Nevada. However, Instead of calling it the "Silver State" I would've liked them to use the state motto "Battle Born"

I wonder if any of the former members of the Coin World Forum remember those drawings for the Nevada quarter posted by another artist. I remember one had a narrow gauge train pictured. I thought they were tremendous drawings. I don't know if his drawings were considered or not. Anyone recall the artist, or his drawings? Many of us raved about them at the time.

I can't remember the website but about a year ago there was a proposed design for the Nevada quarter. It had a topographic map of the state, a poker hand with aces in it, the train that was important in the Carson City area, and where Area 51 is, the topograpic map was a blank square. I thought that was interesting.

Ah! My hopes and dreams are crushed again. I wanted the RAM so bad I just knew I would get it. That design would have been so distinct and probably would have been my new favorite quarter for a lifetime! So, Nevada, in my opinion you have blown it! Rams or miners yes, horses, well the last place I would think of would be Nevada. Shoot, we got horses right here in Indiana!

Gee Crystalk. The ones we have in Nevada run wild. I heard that the ones you have in Indiana have a metal pole through them and only run in circles.. catman

This might be the prettiest State Quarter design I've seen yet. It would be great if they can capture the same beauty in the engraving.

Well you are WRONG Catman as some of them just rock back and forth, for 50 cents, in the Walmart lobby! Actually I have NEVER been thrown off a merry go round but can't say the same for horses. Actually getting hurt, well that would go to a darned pony! Anyway, back to the subject, when I think of Nevada I tend to see more miners and MULES!!! So you still got some horses out there huh? Well I guess the horses would be politically correct and the quarter would not belong specifically to any one city, event or group. We gave ours to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway? Go figure?

We also have wild horses in Colorado. Some within 70 miles of where I live.
The Nevada quarter is attractive. Will probably rank No. 2 with me, behind Rhode Island. Of course when Colorado's is issued, Neveada will become No. 3. Actually, I'm joking. I'm not all that thrilled with the up-coming Colorado quarter.

Ouch Catman!! Actually when I was a kid I had a horse that didn't need a quarter to rock back and forth. Anyone else have one of those red metal rocking horses with the wooden head and seat? Merry-go-rounds make me sick, something about the up and down while going in circles... Anyways... I think I remember the drawing that miker and Gary are referring to- wasn't that the Daniel Carr proposal? It was cool, but I do like what they've come up with. Rachel [:p]
