It doesn't match the known 1944 D/S but it does look interesting.
How about some more pictures from different angles?

It does resemble an over mint mark, but it's just too hard to know looking at the pictures.
This is one of those that would need to be held in hand and examined.

Hypothetically speaking I'd that was an S under the D would that make it a new variety of this kind of omm?

It appears to look like there are couple of ball serifs on each end but I wouldn't know, that's why I asked here.
