While copper coins doesn't have a doubled ear listed for 1992, it certainly looks like something! Could you tell us what portions of the designs are raised and which are incuse? I happened to have a 1992 on hand and it definitely looks different than yours.

You are right at some points it does look like md, but when you flip the coin 180 degrees and look at it it does look like a legit doubled ear. I hope coop has a chance to look at it, but thank you very much. thanks.

I just want to add to my reply, I do not think that the doubled ear looks like md and again I may be wrong.

@7111421Jay Oh, I wasn't saying it couldn't be a DDO because it's not listed -- I was trying to convey that it'd be a great find because it would be a new DDO.

As an fyi, there are also doubled ears in 1988 and 2006. And 1941 if we're going back to wheaties. Here's one image I downloaded from the forums:
1992-Penny-Is-It-Double-Ear-Or-Not?

@khasil I was asking which parts of the design are higher and which are lower. The first ear close up definitely looks doubled, whether it be true DD or MD, but the next two (upside down?) images give me pause.
Rest in Peace

Khasil and Jay, let me try it this way, SEE PIX

Notice that the ears are the same vertical length with the example of a normal cent. What you have CANNOT be a doubled image, period, end of story. It is either MD which does appear in the same direction on other devices, a direct hit of PMD which has altered the image or an overpolised die/grease filled example. It could be both a Greaser and MD. Make cents now?

It does not look like normal MD but I am far from being an expert. It does look unusual and looking forward to seeing what an expert has to say about it.

Thank you all guys for your reply. I'll wait until coop gets a chance to look at it. If he says md, means md, if he says doubled ear, means double. He is got many ways to prove, show and explain. thanks again.

For two more obscure doubled ears, see CONECA 1982-D and Wexler 1983-D
