Wow, it's been so long since I been here! I have a dilema and need some advice. I have become practically unemployed (only working 2 days a week now) and I want to sell many of my coins. I'm getting pretty desparate. I have a Washington quarter collection from 1965 to 1998 all from mint sets and the 65,66,and 67 are from BU rolls and there is no 1983P&D and the 1982P&D is from a roll I believe. All in all it's a beautiful collection and also includs the bicentennial silver. I don't know if this would sell and I wouldn't know what to charge. I'm thinking about using ebay for this. Thanks. Sorry to hear about your trouble nds, I sure would check out the completed auctions on ebay to get an idea of what to expect. A guy might do better if he could sell them individually. Good Luck |

Hi David Sorry to hear about the Job thing, and that the result is the selling of your coin collections. The silver sets seem to do well on ebay, but the clad sets even with the semi keys ,,are a little on the low side . I agree with Knowtracks that a search of ended auctions will help decide to sell them as a whole or individually. One other thing !!! we now have a member auction forum, no fee's and alot more trustworthy than ebay IMHO. Rick |

Nds76 I know what you are going through as I am currently on the unemployed side myself and have had to part with a lot of "extras" from my collection. After getting hammered out of a job I have held for 28 years and docked a lot of money, well I quit and took another bad job that only lasted a month. Decided the best thing to do was quit that job and find something I really wanted to do! Needless to say those jobs are far and few in Indiana and the competition is really great so in the last few days I have decided to take a factory job IF I must until something comes along. Don't want to do it but money is getting tight and I don't want to sell off any more of my collection. Good luck, wish you the best!

A pitty you do not live in a social paradise like norway or belgium On the one hand I paid 52% of my salary in taxes every year and like 65% in taxes on any payraises but when I got fired the first time after 23 year of anciennity the american company that fired me paid 27 months full salary and I found another job in six months with this I paid the full mortgage on my home Then an english company took me for 4 years and fired me when I was sick at home with ulcers .I took them to court and got like 9 months salary and my extralegal pension that had disappeared was found again So now I work by way of an interim service and 4 days of work per months is all I need to survive confortably and nobody can fire me anymore  Edited by ageka

Oh, so lim118 has explained it all and I now understand! I have my fingers caught in the door that slammed? Wondered why I wasn't moving on! Got food, family and a roof over my head so I am in pretty good shape right now. Just need a little money to go along with it!

I have tried to look up completed items on ebay for this collection with no result. All of the coins I carefully placed into cardboard flips so I could display them in the plastic pages. Times are tough right now and coins are the only thing I have that are remotely worth a premium. David |

Since the coins are raw, I would suggest selling them as a collection. Keep in mind that you are also welcome to post them in our B/S/T section. That would save you listing and final fees from ebay. I have found that the realized prices of modern raw coins on ebay can be disappointing. I would hate to see you sell your collection for less than what you feel it's worth.
