If you use the Insert Hyperlink button, you get something like this: http://www.google.comThe code that this forum is generating is incompatible with something in Firefox, although it works fine in IE. The link code looks like this in Firefox: redirect.viglink.com/?format=go&jsonp=vglnk_149265939040416&key=ad2afc48cb2a0d04b9b54aa89d0764f6&libId=j1puqve201009nwz000DLk37uwyid&loc=http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/topic.asp%3FTOPIC_ID=285739&whichpage=2&v=1&out=https://www.google.com/&ref=http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/topic.asp%3FTOPIC_ID=285739&title=Did%20I%20do%20well%20on%20this%20cherrypick%3F%20-%20Coin%20Community%20Forum%20-%20Page%202&txt=https://www.google.com/ I stripped off the leading http so it would show as plaintext. Firefox doesn't like something about the redirect. Firefox interprets this as: ww.coincommunity.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=286230 which doesn't take you anywhere useful. (Again, leading http and w stripped). It's possible there's something in Firefox config that changes this behavior. Edited by ItchyN 04/19/2017 11:37 pm

I downloaded Firefox for Android and went to the original "cherrypick" topic where this came up. Every time I press on the any link there, it takes me to a blank page with a coincommunity url. However, if I long-press on the link and open it in a new tab, the link displays correctly.

I use Firefox with no issues. Version 53 as of this morning. What version are you using?

Works fine for me too. Do you have an add-on in Firefox that might be blocking some traffic, like ads or other potentially black-listed sites?
I occasionally have problems following these redirects when I'm at work because my company's firewall doesn't like viglink.
Edit to add: when you say "Firefox interprets this as (link) which doesn't take you anywhere useful", what do you get instead? When I add the initial "w" to that address, I get this page.

Only problem I seem to have is when using hyperlink feature my cursor wants to jump into the ending code bracket, then when pasting link the total code process is printed within the post instead of the highlighted feature.
Now ItchyN: The other day we were on with Bikercoinguy, you posted a link , cant remember where, that did do a redirect like you're indicating, right back to the thread. That seems to me that trouble is definitely on your end for some reason...way over my pay grade, I graduated with a degree in Vacuum tube theory! (1974)

Yes, it takes me back to the same page on which I entered the link (a page on Coin Community). You'll note from the posted code above that Coin Community software renders the link as a redirect from Coin Community instead of a direct link. The redirect isn't working for me. Also, it's not just links I create - no links I try to follow on this site work properly. While I'd agree it could be an FF add-on problem, it's a problem I don't see with any other links on any other website. Not worth chasing anymore.

Well unfortunately, we get 100K visitors a day and you are the only one reporting this. I think that makes it pretty clear the issue is on your end. Quote: You'll note from the posted code above that Coin Community software renders the link as a redirect from Coin Community instead of a direct link. That can't possibly be true or everyone would be seeing the same thing.

bobby13131: Your assumptions are flawed (especially since one other poster sees the same thing).
I speak from experience (40 years in the computing inducstry as a programmer).
As I said before, this is not worth chasing anymore.
