Hi,

I found this on ebay. Looks like it's in fairly good shape, but I have no idea what it is or where it's from.

A friend says the Hindi legend says "1 pai", and the reverse looks like Farsi instead of Arabic, but that is all I have been able to decipher.

Any help?

Thanks,
John

Interesting coin! Those pitchforks make me think of Gwalior:

That looks like 1 pice from British India (specifically Bengal), which would have been made from 1820 to 1824.

Yep. Found it to be a Bengal 1 pice, Shah Alam II, c. 1835.

Thanks for the quick spotting!
