All I see on this on is Machine Damage. The images are distorted, But the areas that stand out are flat, shelf like.

There are some instances of machine damage but the MO and the LLO on Monticello display some pretty obvious doubling. In this particular instance I'm not really asking whether it is doubling or not, rather I'm asking for assistance in identifying which variety of doubling exists. If it's a matter of providing better pictures I get it however you can trust me when I assure that this coin is doubled. I'll just have to figure a better method to document it photographically.

Just to explain a bit, it just so happens that I have two '57 proof nickels. Here are pictures. Just don't see the likelihood in the mint managing to fabricate two nickels with identical machine damage.

Could you supply a pic of the UM of UNUM as the doubling should show best there.

Show three-five devices around this area and create a normal image with the same devices. When you compare them side by side you can see better if they are enlarged or reduced on them. Just looking at one device does not show us what we need to see.

I don't know if the main post has the good pictures or not now. My phone still shows the skewed ones and my computer shows the good ones lol.

Everything I see is machine damaged during the strikes. This is a proof coin and it is struck twice. The slightest movement is seen as altered on your coin. If this were a hub issue, then the devices would be enlarged. http://goccf.com/t/227007http://goccf.com/t/227035

Two proofs with nearly identical MD must be more statistically probable than I imagined I suppose.

Any thoughts about the neat "shooting star" on the obverse?
