Afternoon all!

I was picking through a tray of mainly Byzantine uncleaned coins at a local coin store (I found a few nice ones, including a desert patina Arcadius ae4) and noticed this strange item:

Mystery-Islamic?-Coin

Mystery-Islamic?-Coin
I'd never seen anything like it before. The dealer thought it might be Arab-Byzantine, but it seems awfully stylized if that's the case. Any ideas? Thanks as always for any help you can provide!

First pic reminds me of the hammered 1/2 rupee coins from Bhutan:

Unfortunately, I didn't buy it so I don't have an exact weight, but I do own one of the hammered rupees (great name for a band) in question and the mystery object is much thinner (it's about the thickness of a medieval European coin), somewhat smaller (especially without the "flanges") and is bronze, not copper.

The diameter is 15 mm. Don't have mass but it is almost paper-thin
