Good eye for sure! Looks like an over eager die tech got carried away with the point polisher! Under nose, lower lip, chin into neck, bow tie, all were "trimmed" up.
Maybe we did evolve from friggin' monkeys...?

Agree with Crazyb0, it is an abraded die,over polished,I have seen several examples on Memorial cents.

If you look at a lot of cents and may come across this again, it could be worth keeping for reference.
