It certainly looks like ebay Australia (and other sites later; local laws allowing) latest changes have a counterproductive element. At least in the short term discouraged sellers will desert to OZtion, giving that site a boost.

Now, despite the comments on ebay forums, the managers aren't stupid and are committed to maximising profits. So they must have a long term agenda beyond giving a minor competitor a boost.

Try this for size....
Oztion continues to grow and soon approaches a critical mass to be successful. That makes it ripe for a sale takeover. Guess who the most likely buyer would be
Right, got it in one -go to the top of the class.

As a buyer, my only obligation on ebay is to pay for my purchase. I will not be told that I have to use paypal. I do not want my credit card details stored in a non-Australian corporation that IMHO barely complies with Australia law.
