Quote:However, I gotta go and sign out of CCF. The Jefferson nickel Anonymous meeting is starting in a few minutes and I'll probably be late because I was licking my screen... Yeah, it doesn't help to hang around with a bunch of enablers. I have another nickel on its way you may also enjoy. Very nice coins posted so far! That's a nice story Slider23 and an even nicer coin.

Quote: Well that didn't take long. Earlier today I posted that I had been obsessed with modern commemorative coins and my next would be either a Star Spangled Proof or a BU Franklin Founding Father dollar. Very excited to have won it at a very good price. Just bought this MS70 slabber. My first and only proof or uncirculated 70 graded coin Very nice! I do not think I could name just one, but I am pretty obsessed with my Eisenhower dollars. I am certainly obsessed with building my new secondary "slabbed" set.

There is not just one coin I am obsessed with, but rather a series: I love these Netherlands cents!

Quote: I am, however, currently obsessing a bit over this little gem, a new acquisition that adds another to my OFEC pursuit. It's an obscure minor from a short-lived occupation, of which the entire series consists of a mere nine coins from two years of issue; all of them low mintage, typically expensive, and difficult to find in any condition.
Nice, tough little series, and the larger coins are quite lovely. It don't do gold so I don't need the 10 and 20 mark pieces. I have all the others except the 2 mark coin. Unfortunately my 5 Mark is only a VF+.

I'm told I have a problem with graded/slabbed/signed Sacagawea/Native dollars. The only problem I can see is that I don't have a Cheerios example and I'm missing a couple of years of the PCGS Diehl signed proofs.

Mike F I think I might have your coin's cousin. She's also an AU53. Just a year later and Philadelphia instead of New Orleans.

Every Byzantine follis with the large 'M' (not the later, 'anonymous', issues). I already have many but never got tired of looking at them. Even the crappiest Eraclius restrike, with illogical lettering and crazy shapes, is special to me

Nice coin Tbone! I agree. I love Seated coins with natural toning. I've been debating whether to send mine into CAC.

@burkhard, glad to hear that you are a Byzantine enthusiast! If you happened to have a follis from Heraclius that dates between 630 and 639 AD in your collection, please post it over on this thread as we are counting back through the decades and are stuck on that one (at least temporarily): http://goccf.com/t/195985&whichpage=51
