I've been going through every listing for Flying Eagles on that big auction site, looking for unattributed errors, DDO's, and clashes. So far I found a '57 mule clash with the 50¢ piece (I already have one, but never hurts to have more, right?), and a '57 DDO, both at bargain prices, as they weren't attributed as such.

Anyway, I saw what was possibly a '57 S-4 DDO (broken wing), being sold as a type set with a '58 SL for a decent price. Condition was ok, but it was the DDO I was after, so I grabbed them.

When I got them, I immediately put the '58 in it's airtite, and scrutinized the '57. Nope, no luck with it being the DDO. That's ok though.

Tonight I decided to spend some time with the '58, and it turns out to be a DDR! Not sure of the Snow # yet, though. I do wish it was in better condition, but oh well.

So I got dumb lucky on a variety I didn't have (not that I have many), and that I wasn't looking for or expecting!

I love reading about finds and cherry picks, it inspires and motivates me to know that all the hours we spend searching snd studying coins eventually pays off.
