Don't look like errors to me.
The 1st one looks like damage in circulation. The 2nd one looks like it had a bath in acid.

The 1st= PMD, smushed somehow. 2nd=acid or other corrosive material

The first Nickel looks like it's been to heck and back , the 2nd one looks like a ground find in acidic soil .
NO error from the mint here !
