Definitely a strange one. The obverse looks like some kind mint error almost looks like the planchet was fractured and the reverse looks like PSD. Personally I don't have a clue on this one. Any ideas? Edited by jasper62 06/10/2017 8:50 pm

If it were a die capped cent, the coin would be unifaced and the edge would be cupped. I dont really see any way for this to happen in the mint. It's possible it could be a strike through, but ive never seen anything like it before if it is. I'm leaning towards PSD, but I could be wrong

I've never seen anything like it. It's definitely suffered a powerful force. If I had to guess I'd say Abe was shot in the back of his head. Maybe a pellet gun.

Really hard to say. Could be a major strike through... but also could've been shot with a pellet gun... Id like to see what some others have to say about this....

While relaxing with my cold beverage and viewing this topic, I had an epiphany. I started noticing the shape on the reverse and then it was just a matter of size comparison. See if you all think this has something to do with it:

Hmmmmm quite an epiphany spruette. I guess my question to you is how old were you when you did this to this penny and how many years have you waited for this to turn up?

Guess that's what's called "disposable income" (of which I have none) that flows out of many additional holes in one's head...

The seller says it's an "error in the stamping process".
