What year is the 3-cent piece? Can you try posting a photo or scan of it?

It is a 1856 3 cent peice but I can't upload a clear photo of it sincee I don't have a scanner and I can't find the digital camera I tried to take a picture with my phone but turned to be blurry and u couldn't really see any detail

1856 is a great year for a Three Cent Silver. It's part of the scarcer Type II series. I'd love to see pictures!

I am no pro but I think cleaning is definitely a high possibility. Look at the dark area between the star points and between the I's in III. I could be wrong tho as I am not an expert by any means

it might have been not sure, I have alot of coins were they looked like they have been cleaned but they weren't lke a morgan I got had build up aroudn edges and stuff but it was from my great grandfather and he took it straight from the bank roll and saved it for someone down the generation line. I dont know the 3 cnt could have been cleaned though

That's a very nice 3 cent piece. It does look like it has a few old hairlines, but unless I'm missing something it has a pleasing tone and would nestle well into a mid-grade type collection--like mine
