Hmm that's a tough one. It will be a few days before I can dig out my books. Looks a little like Wilson.

@Spence. I'm looking forward to when you have time for your books. I agree about Wilson, but I think this coin is older than Wilson. So who has copied who

@wallet, thanks for your patience. I'm looking in my Bonhoff right now, and I actually disagree with Hamburg. While many of the bracteates of Hamburg have a central rectangular design (representing a Zinnenturm or crenellated tower), I don't see the scalloped edge on any of the pieces listed under Hamburg. I'll keep looking and post an update if I can find anything that looks closer to a match to your piece.

Edit addition: Ok I've now looked through the 2000+ photos in both the main and supplemental catalogs for Bonhoff and can find nothing that matches your coin. I just couldn't find many coins with that wide crenellated edge. The closest design I can find is Bonhoff #146, which is a Hohlpfennig from Hamburg(!), but the design element (nettle leaf in a doorway) is still somewhat different from your piece and the crenellations are narrower.
