Looks real, but it's so beat up, I would have passed, even at $15. Melt value would be about $10. (The 1856Do is a bit less common, but not much premium in this condition.)

Known style contemporary counterfeit... impossible "mint"/assayer.

Can be a bit more forgiving of condition with CCs vs. genuine because of their nature... but the condition here is beyond that point.

Just could'nt pass it up. I agree realswatcher, mint/assayer don't jive. was hoping the consensus was counterfeit, starting to collect them.
