Was online and had my order finished by 12:02PM. No issues with the checkout. I learned NOT to wait for the reminders from the mint. For example, I got mine at 12:05 today. They are probably more useful for annual releases as opposed to one-offs such as this.

Quote: Got the confirmation email but the Mint's Order History page still didn't show up yet...... This is hardly ideal, but not unheard of. For some larger/less efficient systems, it makes sense to collect data and process it in bulk to avoid overloading other processes, like those that slow down the user experience or clog the database. Both my current and previous employers have done some things this way.

I will NOT pay that. I just spent $4.95 for the individual dime.

Yea, definitely won't be paying $50-100 for it....not even close. Think I'll spend $4.95 on the nickel, and wait to get the Kennedy at a later date.

Speculation that the entire 225k is sold out. Approx 4000 web orders were placed between noon and sellout. That doesn't even count the really big bulk orders who order by phone. This may be gonzo. Those that missed be on the mint website hitting refresh at 7:30 tomorrow morning.

ElonU, sounds like we are on the same wavelength there. I'm just doing the dime for now since I plan on doing a set of dimes soon. Currently I'm doing nickels but not the ones after the westward journey...at least for now. Had I been able to get a set today I would have sold the quarters and the dollar.

TheForce, if I was able to land a set today I would keep and not break it up.
I do though only want it for the Jefferson and Kennedy. Not a big fan of the quarter designs.

ElonU, all those quarter designs are just too much for my liking. I'm ready for a regular, non changing design to occur. As for the dollar coins I gave up on those when the edge lettering appeared. Killed the denomination for me completely.

I suppose being paranoid pays off sometimes. I went in yesterday to confirm that I still had an active account (it's been a while since I ordered anything from the Mint). Then, added a couple of other items to my shopping cart, entered a credit card into the system and logged off. Today, I went in at about 11:58, kept hitting the refresh button and added to the cart as soon as it became available (they were EXACTLY at 12:00). Went in and paid for the order. Confirmation email arrived right away. I could have sworn that these thing wouldn't sell out, at least not this quickly, but I was paranoid after reading this thread for several days. Also picked up the 2017 Unc Set, 2017 Proof ASE and one of the JFK bronze medals.

I'm both surprised and at the same time, not surprised. I did think it would take a little longer than 5 minutes, but with no HH limit those big guys probably snapped them up in vast chunks. I learned my lesson on the 2017 Congratulations Set.
You'd think the Mint would learn and put a 5HH limit for the first week or even few days so that everyone had a crack.

I couldn't order at 10:00 am MDT or shortly thereafter. By the time I was able to call or logon (11:40 am MDT), they were sold out. Has anyone ever sued the U.S. Mint in the Court of Federal Claims for discriminating acting in an unfair manner when it comes to working people who can't place an order within five minutes of the middle-of-the-workday sales time? The Mint's policy clearly favors dealers over average Americans. --- Edit on 1 Aug 2017 @ 14:22 forum time (Central USA): I scrubbed 'discriminatory' and replaced it with "acting in an unfair manner when it comes to..." Discriminatory seems to be a trigger word of sorts for some folks, and I want to focus on this single issue, not get into a Far Far Right vs. Commie Progressives political debate.
