Foxwoods Man or anyone else with knowledge: What kind of discounts do the big dealers receive? For example Paradise Mint is selling 2017-W burnished silver eagles graded by PCGS at PR69 in .99 cent auctions. Pretty much all are selling for less than mint issue price. Between PCGS, ebay, PayPal, and free shipping can they still be making money? http://www.ebay.com/itm/2017-W-Burn...AOSwCEBZd4FfThis one sold for $31.00 shipped. A bunch have sold under $40 shipped.

The US Mint has a bulk purchase program: https://catalog.usmint.gov/bulk-pur...l#numismaticBut it does not say what kind of discount one would get for participating. I assume this will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis and has to do with the order volume. On some forums I saw a 5% discount mentioned, but that's probably at the lower end of the spectrum and may apply to your traditional 'brick and mortar stores'. The big online dealers probably get in excess of 10%, but how much? Only they know and they certainly won't tell you... Taking a loss is part of doing business. It's a way of offsetting tax on profits. At the same time you are reducing inventory and returning cash to your business. Loaning cash from a bank would cost more in the end than selling your inventory at a loss.

Same here, I received my shipping confirmation this afternoon but as usual the tracking just says "Label created." Now comes the joy of waiting on Fedex Smartpost, which I'm pretty sure purposely delivers packages as slow as humanly possible to really rub in the "budget" part of budget shipping.

Wow, someone selling 1,000 set for $39K. That is a $5K profit if bought for the original price of $34.00.

Decent profit but the free shipping of 26 boxes of 38 sets each (plus one box) will eat up a bit of that (and the around 13% ebay fee) Do the math if interested

The mark ups are quite astronomical. I see some selling lots of 500...this is why many of us couldn't get a set. This is just as bad as ticket scalping.

The number of lots (10, 50, 100, 500, etc.) available on ebay is crazy. LOL. It's so absurd it's practically comical. Waiting in the shadows......
