Quote:So looking at the mintage for these coins, aren't these the lowest non proof Lincoln Penny, the lowest minted Jefferson nickle (except for the 1997 Matte @ 25K), the lowest minted Roosevelt dime (except for the proof March of Dimes set 75K), and the lowest non proof Washington quarter? Is that correct? Why did people not think this would be a quick Sell Out? A sellout, yes, but I way underestimated how quick it would be. In the poll I said more than an hour, less than a day. Five of the 29 votes got it right.

something else to look at, if places like QVC and the bigger coin stores picked these up, whats going to keep them and the mint from working on things next year so they can get the bulk of the sets

I have to correct my previous statement about availability at the other sites...20 limit at the Mint sites but 500 at the ANA

The honest folks over at the Coin Vault are selling the full set graded PCGS SP-69 First Day of Issue for $199.98. They're comparing the ATB Quarters to the 32-D&S, and are really pushing how unique the "First Day of Issue" label designation is. Obviously, as they just said, it's the "best price possible."

I predict that approximately one year from now I'll be buying the Kennedy half from Dave Enders. True Story.

I wonder how much it costs them (Coin Vault) to have a full set graded. As Foxwoods pointed out, the big dealers don't pay what we pay.

I'm glad this one did not interest me as I would have been as frustrated as I was with the 2017 s silver eagle. Unable to order in the six minutes window due to work but I did get my silver proof set and the burnished silver eagle this morning before work.

I bought some Franklin halves from Dave Enders ( davenders on ebay) last month and it was one of the best buying experiences ever. Better quality than expected; fair prices; secure, prompt shipping. So nice to find a business that respects its customers. :)

Quote: I wonder how much it costs them (Coin Vault) to have a full set graded Perfect example... NGC (for Joe Normal): $31/coin ($310/set) for Modern grading and special label. This does not include shipping both ways and the service charge This is one of the few sets I buy that I will NOT submit for grading...waaaay to expensive because of the number of coins/set Edit to add: oops..forgot. That special label was only for coins submitted at the ANA or dealer submissions so subtract $5/coin ($50) from the total. ...and PCGS is $34/coin ($340/set) for First Strike label

The Mint had a few sets available this AM but they went fast. Most likely CC order issues

Quote: I wonder how much it costs them (Coin Vault) to have a full set graded? In general, large-scale bulk submitters can get pricing in the $8 to $10 per coin range (some may even be able to do better). It's not that the grading services are favoring dealers over collectors, per se, they are favoring bulk orders over small orders. It's all based on volume. A collector who submits 5,000 coins at one time is also going to get a substantial price break.

I actually want this entire set. I really like that each coin has a special finish. I'll try to get one on the bay in a few months. I don't mind paying a little more than issue price, but Il'll just have to wait and see what happens.

My Order Status has changed to shipped. I have a tracking number, but it is not active yet. I expect an e-mail in the next hour or so to let me know what I already know.

The seller I bought the dime from on ebay has shipped it. So they must have got their sets quick.

I can't wait to see photos of these guys. Ok, I guess technically I can wait but I don't wanna! I added a couple of things to my order so I imagine it'll take a little while longer to assemble mine (I'm assuming they had a number of 1- or 2-set packages already ready to fly out the door once shipping label was generated).
