Thankyou for your advice autocoupler, that's exactly what I needed to hear, I have been that worried that I gambled on a dud coin worth $1.
Into the safe it goes. I hope a Few more are found soon, I have brought this coin to a lot of peoples attention, so hopefully now everyone is looking there
will be more show up. Can I ask what a sport coin is? I have been collecting for many yrs now (just started really getting into it last yr) & have never heard the term mint sport.
There was a few pictures put up on facebook when I posted there. hopfully they are genuine examples. I have one of there pictures here. (this is not my coin)

Mint sport refers to variety and error coins that were deliberately created by mint employees without the authorisation of the mint itself.

That's correct Bigfella, (its not my pic or any I received before purchasing) it's on The FNQ coin site questions only ATM.
"mint sport" How would someone do that at the mint, don't they have cameras & security watching everyone around the clock?

I would just like to say a big Thankyou to everyone who has helped me this far.
this is a awesome forum. I wish I had joined earlier.

Nup. How else do you think someone managed to steal over $100,000 worth of $2 coins? They only check their workers for coins on the way out, but even then, it wouldn't be difficult to smuggle one out if you hid it in the right location.

I think my "professional creation" reference was a little off in hindsight. Going only by the pics the 'joining' of the two rims didn't quite look like the 2000 mule imo. But, I could be and probably am wrong. I hope it is mint sport. Certainly looks like a nice coin.

I thought maybe you had spotted something I had missed.
It would be great if it is a genuine error which people have a chance to find in change, rather than mint sport, but I do not hold much hope of that.

Looks like a bog standard partial double rim to me.It's just my opinion and would need a lot of convincing otherwise.

I found another 2014 coin I would love to buy, Any suggestions on how much I should overpay on this coin? Or what the value of this coin would be? Cheers

Is this double struck dollar coming from the same source as the "Mule"?

No, It's off another dealer. Don't tell me it's a fake as well? Is it a backyard/Aussie slabber job? I think I might stay away from the 2014 $1 anzac coins. The fact that no one replied to this post until asked was if of the same dealer rasied some red flags for me. I have done a little bit of research on it & can only find $2 double struck coins & a few $1 coins. Where other than here can Error coins be looked up, that you don't have to be a member of?

This question is going to sound dumb but I am just not 100% confident on my choice. lol
I am in the process of sending a few coins & the $1 coin to PCGS. Can anyone help me with what service level I need to choose?
I have about 50 ish on the list so far.
The $1 would go in Error I presume?
What about the $10 Millenium series "The Past" proof coin or the 11/11/11 $5 red poppy or the yearly proof set coins or even the $2 red poppy coins? Modern or Special issue?
Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers

I don't think anyone is calling either of these coins "fakes"
There are many double struck examples of decimals around and hopefully the "Mule" isn't Mint sport which means that there should be many others out there in the wild for other collectors to find over time.
Time will tell for this one

The only reason I didn't comment on the second coin is that I just don't know. I'm not as experienced as some of the other members on this forum, so I've left it up to them to give you an answer. I already have a 2000 mule in my collection, so I can make comments about mules, but double-struck coins are something I know very little about.
