I think I've said this before, but I have the perfect wife. When I asked her to marry me almost 28 years ago, I said we needed to get a diamond engagement ring. She told me "I'd rather get a high-def TV."

Now is that perfect or not?

@Nells250

Loved MAD magazine when I was growing up. Spy vs spy was great!

Thanks for the memory seed.

B/c of the crudeness,inuendo, and some of the unclad comic characters, my mother never let us have the magazine.

But trips next door to my friend's house sometimes ended up with "the forbidden" being perused. Spy vs. Spy...agreed...one of the best parts

I had a couple of MAD's when I was a kid in the 1980s, but I honestly don't know WHY as I was a girl and wasn't into comics, etc.

Here is a good one from the Dick Van Dyke show. Season 5 Episode 7...

Rob Petrie inherits an old desk from his recently deceased uncle, and within it a small hoard of coins is found. A numismatist is summoned for a house call and they all look through the coins using the Red Book to try and find a fortune.

Some real good numismatic jokes, like "these are old coins better call an "oldmismatist" instead of a numismatist.

Abe Lincoln makes an appearance as well.
