LOL...I figured that was a European seller. I've seen other auctions where they mistake our older 5c coins for silver. Here's another auction that is less crazy than simply suspect: What do you suppose is going on with those stars--a normal strike? Perhaps that's normal for whatever factory recently stamped this thing. That doesn't stop bidders it seems. and look at these fields:

Nancy, whoaa...that's so horribly wrong--and people are bidding! I'm not an Aussie, but I can spot the glaring problems immediately. Such as--did anyone bother to check whether the 1922/1 has a mintmark below the date? It's rather ironic that Heritage has a genuine 1922/1 bidding for less than the ebay "coin".

This just made me laugh. http://cgi.ebay.com/2008-AMERO-PROT...IN_W0QQitemZ150247561165QQihZ005QQcategoryZ524QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem "NORTH AMERICAN UNION Beautiful Prototype / Concept Coin Final mintage: 650 THIS COIN HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED as of April 17, 2008 A currency union, similar to the European Union "Euro" has been proposed for North America. The name of the new currency is the "Amero". Please click and watch the following link http://youtube.com/watch?v=vuBo4E77ZXoThese private-issue prototype pattern coins will be struck until such time it is no longer legal to do so and none will ever be minted after the end of the year. When they're all gone - they're gone! - Which makes the potential value of this coin unlimited. Steps are already being taken to implement such a currency Governement lawmakers and politicians are in discussions regarding dropping the Dollar for the Amero THE A M E R O The proposed new currency of North America"

Quote: Those Ameros were made by the same guy who designed the New York and New Jersey State Quarters.......I actually like the designs he has for the silver Ameros http://www.amerocurrency.com/coins/..uarters.htmlEnd Quote The designer, Daniel Carr, is actually a member here. I thought that was so cool when I saw that for the first time!

I like the Amero design too. I just like how the youtube video is a whole conspiracy thing and they talk like the government is actually going to start producing them.

Here is one that is mainly outrageous because the seller expects you to pay $6,199 for 307 slabbed coins without any pictures. http://cgi.ebay.com/307ea-Slabbed-C...OF_W0QQitemZ140233181133QQihZ004QQcategoryZ139811QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem His quote: "307 each Slabbed Coins SEALED Mint State, BU, UNC, PROOF BU MS PROOF UNC coinage Susan Bs, Ikes, Kennedys, Franklins, Washington, Jefferson, Roosevelt & more.... Beautiful assortment. Gorgeous coins. Many different years plus various Mint Marks. Estate purchase. Just consigned for sale. Will add photos on the 15th, as it almost 11pm on the 14th now. Thanks for looking.... $45.00 s & I for 48 states." It is the 19th now and still no pictures. I am betting it is all modern junk in junk slabs. Seller is a powerseller and should know better! Also of note: seller started the auction 19:25 Pacific Time, which is well before 11 pm Eastern time, where he is located. So that excuse is hollow.

This auction get me really mad, because the 3 month average selling price for a complete set of Walking Liberty halves on ebay ranges from 750-1000. Most are average sets. One can pick up an AU-BU 1941-47 partial set for 400-500. So at most this set listed should be around 1500. He makes you think it is a good deal by saying "price reduced $500". Big WHOOP! Plus the shipping is a ridiculous $67! http://cgi.ebay.com/COMPLETE-LIBERT...-S_W0QQitemZ250247568185QQihZ015QQcategoryZ41101QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

"Estate purchase. Just consigned for sale." Very common language used in scams to distance seller from responsibility. I suspect this "estate" involves a basement slabber grading junk as "MS BU UNC PROOF". Nice.
