The color balance is WAY off on that photo making it look much more red than it actually is...

A true "Red" is coppery.

yeah I agree. I just keep finding many pennies that have actual red tint all through them. I want to say it is environmental but I just don't think so. I can't get the quality of the color I want with my camera though. Maybe everyone finds these. I just like the color.

"Red" is not a variety, it refers to the original mint color of uncirculated copper. Your coin is red due to cuprous oxide(environmental damage).
