ExoGuy Pillar of the Community United States 4420 Posts	Posted 08/16/2017 11:35 am Here's an 1875 Trade dollar that, following demonetization. got repurposed as a "box dollar." These were also popularly called "opium dollars" but that was a misleading name. Back when these were made by jewelers, using two dollar coins each, opium was legal and did need not be smuggled into the U.S. These box dollars were intended to be keepsakes. The interior of this box dollar was also engraved, making it a "love token" as well .... Report this Post to the Staff
