Here we go!  To celebrate my most recent purchase, which completes my Dansco 7070 album (US Type set), I would like you to post a coin that completed a set you were building!  1869 Seated Liberty dollar (with Motto)  PointsDenomination20 - Is the base denomination for its country (one dollar, one peso, etc.) 15 - Is a multiple of that base (five dollars, twenty pesos, etc.) 10 - Is a fraction of that base (five cents, ten centavos, etc.) Set Theme20 - Is a country type set (like my Dansco 7070, with multiple denominations) 15 - Is a date (and mint, if applicable) set for a series (single denomination) 10 - Is a denomination type run. (US large dollars, etc.) 10 - Is any custom set you define (OFEC, OFEY, etc.) Date minted20 - Before 20th Century 15 - 20th Century 10 - 21st Century Bonus (does not apply to my example)15 - Coin not minted in the US, Canada, or any British Commonwealth Nation. The only complete set I currently have is my US 20th & 21st Century Type Set. The last four coins I bought for that set were the 1900 Barber, 1940 Mercury, 1950 Roosevelt, and 2018-W Roosevelt dimes.  I am very pleased with this series as I think those dimes look great and I LOVE proofs! Not sure how many points I get for this... |

Congrats on completing the set, jbuck!  UK one penny 1903 Denomination - 1/240 of a pound (10) Set theme - Edward VII UK type set (no gold) (10) Date minted - 20th century (15) 35 points Here's a picture of the whole set in a 1902 long proof set case. Coppers are in place of gold.  Edited by bd251

The first set I completed was 1927 - 1968 Portugal 50 centavos KM#577. (disregard first coin in picture below).   Last addition was the 1946. Hmm, really interesting idea...  I have multiple complete sets, mainly here in the USA, the only complete Canadian set is the large cents from 1858-1920 and small cents 1920-1960, missing the Canadian 1925 key date nickel for that set to be completed thru 1969... Lets see what else I can play with here  |

I don't really do complete sets. Can't think of very many definitely-complete sets I had, and most of them are very short sets. The vast majority of my sets are missing a few very rare coins I hadn't managed to affordably find yet, and/or a few very common coins that I didn't happen to look for because I was missing the rares anyway. I had a complete set [excluding some pattern issues] of the Russian 10 kopeks, which was probably my largest complete set (30+ coins), but my last coin in it was the last coin issued (2015) because I already had all the others by the time it was issued, which is honestly boring, so no photos. The closest I can think of with photos is this, which is a set it took me about ten minutes to complete (from a coin shop bargain bin), most of which was spent searching for the last coin...   Luxembourg, 25 centimes, 1968 (the key date for the type, such as it is; I already had all 8 of the other dates when I found this one) 10 - is a fraction 15 - a date set [I ignored the very rare medal alignments but it's still a date set] 15 - 20th century 15 - not minted in US or Commonwealth That sums out to 55, same as triggersmob, though they should get a bonus for posting pics of the set (which I don't have - only have pics of this coin because of an older contest about key dates). |
