So recently I had found a roll of halves filled with mostly silver halfs.
Apparently some old lady came to a chase bank and brought 150$ worth over 10 years.
In those 150$ I found 6 1964's and 13 1965-1969's.
HAS THIS HAPPEN TO YOU BEFORE?

It seems that I get super lucky looking through halves. I'm 3/3 for silver so far.
I've only been hunting for about 3 weeks.
I've seen videos on people looking through 5000$ worth and only finding some NIFC's.
darn...
BTW I'm 15, and I will include the photo when I have access to a computer. I'm just out right now.

Derand - you have done something that 40 years ago I did not know would still be possible - finding silver in modern times. Obviously I was wrong, and I am glad so young collectors like you can still experience the excitement and fun! Congratulatios!

Our CCF Family likes young collectors so hang around!

I know I said I found 19 silvers. I meant 19 in total for 150$ in halves
Better quality photos will come later if wanted

It's a bit more dificult to do nowadays, but between 1981- 2010 it wasn't unusual to find solid rolls of silver halves. You see, 40%'ers were worth about face value for almost 25 years since the last run-up in price back n 1980, and 90% worth a buck or so. I found a couple dozen or more solid silver rolls when I was making the run between about 2009-2012.

That being said, congrats!

I was doing CRH in the late 70's and even then I did not find solid rolls of silver halves, but it paid enough that you could make a good hourly wage for a kid. After the 80's run up in silver, you it didn't pay to do it anymore. I have no idea what the payback for time is today, but I imagine it can only be worse.

@Andrew99. I was also a teen roll hunter back in the late 70's. To this day I never really considered a payback money-wise, (never sell my finds) although it is a great hobby!

I took all my silver to the local coin shop for 8x face. I actually calculated I was making about $5/hr which was better than my paper route. My only regret is that I was undercapitalized.

I love this forum! I've wanted to talk about coins to somebody else. But OBVIOUSLY no one my age would be interested in coins. It's just fascinating how much history a coin has.
Pretty good way to save up for college too.
