I am thinking about buying an obw or just an unc roll of mintmarked pennies. Is there any date / mintmark combo that has more / more noticeable rpms?

Yep 1960-D, I think there are something like 110 to 150 different ones.

Plus, with the 60D, you can look for SD, LD and SD/LD!

Edit: or should I say LD/SD...

I was interested in this too. So, since I had nothing else to do, I did some research and found the top 20 (technically 21) dates for RPMs on Lincoln Cents based on how many are listed for each date and mintmark on coppercoins.com. (And yes 1960-D is #1 by a landslide.)

1: 1960-D (173)
2: 1961-D (84)
3: 1959-D (63)
4: 1958-D (56)
5: 1957-D (44)
5: 1951-D (44)
7: 1952-D (38)
8: 1988-D (37)
9: 1946-S (36)
10: 1953-D (35)
11: 1964-D (33)
12: 1953-S (32)
13: 1956-D (30)
13: 1946-D (30)
15: 1945-S (25)
15: 1989-D (25)
17: 1943-D (24)
18: 1955-D (23)
19: 1944-D (22)
19: 1962-D (22)
19: 1950-S (22)

Rest in Peace

. My best snags have been in 56D through 62D, with the best grabs from the 60D's. Any oy the other older D & S get ppricey quick, the newer D & S don't have a lot it seems. I try tonfind auctions of groups of dates, that way may get some P mints to look for nice DDO / DDR's!

Tomorrow won't be a good date to look. Not enough sun light in my neck of the woods.
