I'm new to errors and varieties but I was looking through some coin rolls of nickels and saw some difference in locations on a 1984 D nickel. I had a total of 13 1984D nickels and only 1 had a slightly different location. The mint mark was closer to the date than the other 12. Not sure if this is something that is normal for the mint locations to vary. I included a regular location as well as the 1 that was closer to the date, and an overlay of the 2.

Excellent closeups as well!

Up until 1990, nickel mintmarks were hand-punched on working dies, so slight variation in position and rotation are normal. That said, there are cases when extreme misplacement* can create a premium value for the coin.

The nickels you have are normal, though. Keep searching!

*Edit: for an example of extreme, check out this article about the 1975-D: http://www.coinworld.com/news/us-co...rs.all.html#

I may add the mintmark in the one pic.before last looks as if it got hit and flattened, that's why the center on the MM looks different.
