Pete, Yes, in this case there's no crease, but I think that detail was worn down, as corroborated by the flattened tops of the date. However, the other LD markers are there for the 9 and stroke length of the 7. I looked for a SD for 10+ years in change, but I've had better luck in bargain Lincoln bins at dealers. Peteplomo, I use a very simle way of telling: If the "7" is low, remember that Large dates are low. Low=large. there are other details, but I use the easiest, for me.

I also vote large. I have some 70s like that as well. The crease is gone, but the nine makes me think it is a large.
I still through all s mints to the side. They are hard to find here and I like to fill the 1941-1974s albums.

Because eyeballing the level of the 7 can be tricky, I also suggest comparing the inner curl of the 9. On the LD, this curl end points near the base of the 7; the SD curl of the 9 points distinctly toward the center of the 7's vertical stroke. The crease trick only works on better grade coins, usually either proofs or BU coins. The inner point of the 9 tells the rest of the story.
Yours is a large date.

Agree with the rest on this,
It's a large date.- look at the difference between the top of the Zero and the top of the Seven on your coin- you can clearly see that the Zero is much higher- unfortunately, also indictative of a large date 1970S .
