It's a Hindu temple token, I think about 100-150ish years old. Not much value and pretty common; I think these were handed out as gifts to pilgrims. You can find plenty of examples here by searching for "temple token".

That website says there are ancient tokens and modern reproductions. How can you tell?

It's modern. I have collected these Ramatankas extensively and this particular die crops up frequently.
